YEP Program Highlights

ITServe YEP Program empowers students by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, which helps them to think creatively and find ways to translate passions into real-world experiences.

This course is a challenging, college-level business startup course that teaches students how to start for-profit, social impact companies. Using the lean startup methodology and design thinking, students learn to identify problems, develop solutions, and build business plans and pitch decks to launch companies. Students will learn to speak to customers and use that feedback to iteratively build their business. Students learn and apply Entrepreneurial Mindset Skills, while building new ventures using key start-up design principles.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will have:

  • An understanding of Lean Startup methodology of new venture development
  • Applied key design principles behind for-profit social impact companies
  • Developed Entrepreneurial Mindset Skills
  • The Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile® (EMP) was developed by Eckerd College.
  • Built a new venture using customer/stakeholder feedback Opportunity to compete in a final pitch competition
  • Online 6 weeks 2 days a week 3hrs each day
  • Days will be Tue/ Thu 3hrs 6-9 PM CST

Module 4 - Final Pitch Preparation
