Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) Expresses Strong Support for High-Skilled Immigration, Stronger US-India Relations, and Thanks ITServe Alliance for Their Contributions to the US Economy and Tech Industry

(Dallas, TX) “Thank you for the incredible contributions you and your organization make for the local economy in creating jobs and supporting community needs,” Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) told the more than 400 members of ITServe Alliance, who are CEOs of IT Services Firms, in his keynote address during the ITServe Texas Regional Meeting and Synergy Curtain Raiser at the Marriott at the Legacy Town Center, Plano, TX on Friday, September 12, 2025.

“As a co-founder of the US Senate India Caucus, I know in particular what the Indian American community has provided here in Texas, and the essential role that each of you plays in helping make this community and our state a leading economic force in the nation,” he said.

“In Texas in particular, we’ve benefited from the investment from the Indian community and the nation, about 9.8 billion Dollars. We have the eighth-largest economy in the world, and we continue to attract world-class companies from across the globe because of the unique opportunities available here.”

Sen. Cornyn, currently serving his fourth term, and is a member of the powerful US Senate Finance, Judiciary, Intelligence, Foreign Relations, and Budget Committees, said, “I believe that legal immigration has been an enormous asset to our country because it attracts brilliant and hardworking people from all corners of the world to come here to America, to help make America great.”

Regarding the STEM workforce, Sen. Cornyn said, “I support efforts to address gaps in the high-skilled workforce with talented, hard-working, risk-taking, ambitious individuals who want to contribute to the American dream and strengthen our local economy.”

Referring to recent updates to the high-skilled visa program announced by Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, the senior Senator from Texas said, “I think we can all agree that the system is not perfect and needs some work. The system was created 35 years ago, and like everything after 35 years, it’s in need of a tune-up and modernization.”

“And I commit to being part of that solution — working together with your help, assistance, and guidance,” he told the ITServe Alliance members, who represent small and medium-sized IT companies across the United States, collectively employing more than 175,000 people and contributing over $20 billion annually to the U.S. economy.

Recalling his first visit to India in 2004, Sen. Cornyn said, “When I came back from India, started the US India Caucus, because of the importance of the relationship with the United States and India. So, part of my job in the Senate as a founder of the US-India Caucus is to make sure that India and the United States grow closer together. And I’m optimistic and grateful to read that the President says that the negotiations between Prime Minister Modi and the White House are going well, and I’m hopeful that that will be resolved.”

Sen. Cornyn expressed commitment to confirming Sergio Gor, who has been nominated as the new US Ambassador to India. “He’s responsible for personnel, and he’s very close to the President and his administration, which I think will be the greatest asset.”

Expressing his strong commitment to bolstering bilateral ties between the United States and India, Sen. Cornyn hoped that “the relationship continues to grow between the world’s oldest democracy and the world’s largest democracy, as we share so much in common in terms of values and we, I believe that relationship will continue to flourish in the future.”

Emphasizing the critical role being played by the IT sector, particularly the member companies that ITServe represents, Sen. Cornyn said, “It’s an understatement to say we are living in a world that’s rapidly changing because of technology. Your profession will create many challenges and opportunities, and that’s why many of us rely on professionals like you to keep pace with these new and exciting developments and help make our businesses efficient, meet the requirements of the Law, and comply with regulations, from sending emails to keeping my calendar synced to firing off an occasional tweet or two. There’s hardly a thing that anything I do, not involve some aspect of technology, the work that ITServe has done to unite and empower IT services and consulting firms around the country has never been without the support and expertise that you provide.”

Expressing his deep appreciation and gratitude to the ITServe, Sen. Cornyn said, “I am grateful for the charitable work that the ITServe Alliance has done in our communities, and I particularly appreciate the contribution that you made to the flood victims in Kerrville. Your donation was a powerful example of Texas helping fellow Texans even during the darkest of times and is very much appreciated.”

Sen. Cornyn referred to the many noble initiatives of ITServe, where members “volunteer at food banks and come together for various events that benefit our first responders, law enforcement officials, and partner with local organizations to provide scholarships, particularly in the STEM fields, which we know that we need more graduates.”

He appreciated the fact that “On this Memorial Day, you honored our nation’s fallen heroes by placing American flags at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Your acts of generosity and kindness, and patriotism do not go unnoticed, and they have had an immeasurable impact. And I thank each of you for the great work you’ve done for the state that I love, and that you have come to love the state of Texas.”

In his address, Honorable D. C. Manjunath, Counsel General of India in Houston, said, “Our friendship between India and the US may be the most important alliance in the 21st Century. I truly believe that, due to our shared values of representative government, free market principles, and the rule of law, as well as our mutual interest in promoting global security. It’s not difficult to see why we work so well together, despite the occasional bumps on the road.”

ITServe Alliance President Anju Vallabhaneni emphasized the organization’s core mission: protecting and enabling small and medium-sized IT businesses. Governing Board Chair Raghu Chittimalla reinforced this narrative, highlighting the alliance’s expansion from a local chapter to an organization recognized coast-to-coast. Siva Moopanar, President-Elect, highlighted ITServe’s Texas origins and the vibrant energy of its membership.

The event was organized under the leadership of Abhishek Boyanapally, President of the Dallas Chapter, in coordination with the Austin and Houston Chapters. Founded in 2010, ITServe Alliance is the largest association of Information Technology Services organizations operating across the United States, with 24 Chapters in several States.
