Innovation Event Takes Center

National Leadership Tour and Phoenix Chapter Meeting Spark Entrepreneurial Momentum

Phoenix, AZ—On October 7th, 2025, the vibrant energy of entrepreneurship swept through the San Marcos Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Resort as ITServe Alliance’s Arizona Chapter hosted its monthly meeting and National Leadership Tour. This landmark gathering, themed “Pitch to Rich,” marked a pivotal moment in Arizona’s startup ecosystem, bringing together ten dynamic startups, dozens of CEOs, and a panel of esteemed judges for an evening of innovation, investment, and inspiration.

Ten promising startups from across Arizona, including Airawath, Bridgeselling, EVBuddy, Alekta Solutions, Khub, TSemi, Lagrange, Silveraile, AICines, and MYPurusu, took the spotlight. Each team was given a rapid-fire five-minute window to pitch their creative business ideas, followed by a two-minute Q&A session with judges.

The pressure was intense, the stakes high—at the end of the 90-minute showcase, winners would be awarded on-the-spot funding, cash prizes, and invaluable investor connections.

The event’s innovative format—reminiscent of “Shark Tank”—was designed to test the feasibility and market appeal of new ventures. “Pitch to Rich” was not only the first of its kind for ITServe but also a testament to the organization’s commitment to fostering local innovation, employment, and economic growth.

“This event marked a historic first in the ITServe Alliance,” remarked Madhu Rayapati, ITServe Phoenix Chapter President. “Bringing together this caliber of founders and funders is a privilege.

Congratulations to our winners—investors are already showing significant interest, and follow-up discussions are in motion for several standout startups. The future looks bright!”

KHub emerged as the first-place winner, securing the top prize and immediate investor attention. Bridgeselling claimed second place and was also singled out as a favorite by several investors eager to partner with the company. VBuddy captured the hearts of the audience, chosen as the “people’s favorite” for its compelling pitch.

The panel of judges—Alexander McElfish, Surya Kalavagunta, Jackson Scorseby, Eric Miller, and Andrew Steele—were instrumental in drawing out the best from each presenter. Their questions challenged the entrepreneurs to clarify their vision, substantiate their plans, and demonstrate the impact of their innovations.

The evening wasn’t solely about pitches and prizes. The Phoenix Chapter expanded its corporate social responsibility initiatives by donating $2,000 to the Children’s Cancer Network. Additionally, as part of ITServe’s mission to encourage STEM education, full-semester scholarships were awarded to students from Maricopa Community College. Onstage, recipients Shanna Dyott and Sophia Moreno shared moving testimonies about how the scholarships helped them overcome financial barriers and focus on their education.

The event also featured cultural enrichment, as Sasha Rayapati captivated the audience with an exceptional performance on the veena, a classical Indian music instrument. Her dedication and artistry were widely applauded, especially given her busy schedule preparing for competitive exams.

High-profile guests added gravitas and perspective to the proceedings. Dr. Srinivasa KJ, Consul General of India in Los Angeles, addressed the audience, introducing the newly opened consulate and emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Indian businesses, professionals, and the wider diaspora in Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California. “Indian professionals are our true unofficial ambassadors,” he emphasized, calling for unity, expanded diplomatic ties, and deeper engagement to strengthen the India-U.S. partnership.

Arizona State Senator Priya Sundareshan, the first Indian American woman in the Arizona Legislature, shared her journey from Tucson to MIT, inspired by her family’s dedication to science and education. She underscored the urgent need for IT modernization in state agencies, the impact of tariffs and immigration policies on small businesses, and the vital role immigrants and entrepreneurs play in driving America’s success. “As we heard Congressman Stanton mention, immigration policy is so important for making sure that businesses like yours are able to continue and thrive,” she said.

Congressman Greg Stanton (D-AZ, 4th District) sent a message highlighting ITServe’s pivotal role in shaping Arizona’s future as a tech hub. He credited the organization and its members for driving innovation, attracting talent, and fostering economic growth. Stanton cited that nearly half of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children and pointed to the vital contributions of immigrant entrepreneurs, engineers, and researchers to the Valley’s workforce. He called for urgent reforms to the immigration system, particularly the protection of H1B visas and support for “Dreamers,” asserting that talent transcends borders and is essential for national progress.

The event received widespread praise from ITServe’s national leadership. Anju Vallabhaneni, National President, lauded the Phoenix team’s meticulous coordination and the “Shark Tank”-style segment: “The ‘Pitch to Rich’ presentations were inspiring—we need more such events in every chapter and in our annual Synergy summit.” Siva Moopanar, President-Elect, echoed the sentiment: “It was a standout event, perfectly run and deeply insightful. I left with new ideas for diversifying product lines and embracing technology. The quality of panelists and depth of knowledge were exceptional.”

Under Madhu Rayapati’s leadership, the Phoenix Chapter achieved several milestones this year: connecting ITServe members with local CEOs, securing $10,000 in sponsorships for the first time in seven years, organizing an industrial tour at Amazon to inspire sustainable business practices, expanding CSR efforts to tier two cities through STEM scholarships, and hosting quarterly fitness and wellness events to promote holistic well-being. The Chapter catalyzed $960,000 in business among members, signaling an upward trajectory for the chapter and its members.

Suresh Potluri, National Secretary, expressed gratitude for the Phoenix team’s role in last year’s successful Synergy event in Las Vegas and praised the emergence of new leaders in the chapter. Vijay Kommineni, Chapter Relations Director, reflected on the honor of hosting ten startups with transformative ideas, reinforcing ITServe’s mission to foster innovation and societal impact.

The Arizona Chapter Meeting and National Leadership Tour, anchored by the “Pitch to Rich” competition, has set a new benchmark for innovation and collaboration in Arizona’s business community. With robust investor interest, energized founders, and a strong commitment to social responsibility and STEM education, ITServe Alliance continues to shape the future of entrepreneurship in the region. The momentum generated promises not just growth for startups but enduring progress for the broader Arizona community and beyond.
